FAIR Evaluator is the FAIR Maturity Evaluation Service. Its web front-end runs collections of Maturity Indicator tests against a resource identified by a GUID (a DOI, a handle, an InChI key or a URL), and lets users register tests and collections.

Use case: Assessing the metadata record of a resource that has a DOI or URL against a chosen collection of maturity indicator tests.

Status note

On 2026-10-25 the host fair-evaluator.semanticscience.org did not resolve (curl error 6). The front-end loaded, and its script (scripts/controllers/configCtrl.js) sets the backend to https://fairdata.services:7171/FAIR_Evaluator, with the semanticscience.org address commented out. That backend listed 36 collections and one evaluation run against collection 1 completed and returned a result. The FAIR Champion README describes FAIR Champion as an evolution of the FAIR Evaluator. None of the pages opened states that FAIR Champion replaces it.
